Pay Range: $45-50
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Set-up and operate servo-hydraulic load frames (20 – 110 Kip Universal Test Machines) to conduct static and fatigue mechanical properties testing of various metallic and composites materials.
  • Will route hydraulic lines between manifolds, test actuators, and hydraulic pump hard lines. Inspect for leaks. May re-locate manifolds as needed to support different tests.
  • Performs functional and operational tests to check-out test articles and test setups.
  • Coordinates with engineers in planning, laying out and making mechanical modifications to test positions and test articles according to accepted standard practices to develop more practical arrangements in this equipment from a functional or service standpoint.
  • Performs fabrication, assembly, installation, diagnosis, repair and modification on hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with test equipment.
  • Furnishes supplementary sketches or diagrams to aid in accomplishing such mechanical modifications, as required.
  • Performs periodic preventive maintenance, as directed.
BasicQualifications:
  • HS diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Microsoft 365 Suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
  • Uses hand tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, height gauges to perform detailed measurements.
  • Operates portable power tools and machine tools such as pedestal grinders, drill presses, band saws, and belt sanders etc. to prepare and/or modify metallic (Hardened Steels) and composite test articles.
  • Can interpret preliminary design drawings, prints, schematic flow diagrams, sketches or the other diagrams, verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Understands and can apply shop theory to visualize and determine the most practical procedure to follow for the work described.
  • Can rework, refurbish, and modify parts and equipment as required for the work described.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Can operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, brake form, waterjet.
  • Can operate a MIG or TIG welder.
  • Years of Experience: 4-8 years
  • Contract Duration: 12 Months contract
  • US Citizen and US Person candidates permitted
