    Job Overview

    This is a challenging role that involves performing all required inspections, tests, and evaluations in Eddy Current.  You will also ensure all equipment, personnel, and planning are maintained for proficient operation and quality compliance.

    Responsibilities include:

    • The UT Immersion Technician will be performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results.
    • UT Immersion Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
    • UT Immersion Technicians are thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of assistants and level I technicians.
    • Ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
    • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.
    • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
    • Organize and report test results.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of advanced technical inspections.
    • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.

    Qualifications include:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Verifiable documentation of previous certifications as a UT II (NAS410 is preferred) in at least one of the following principals:
      • Ultrasonic Thickness
      • Ultrasonic Contact
      • Ultrasonic Shear Wave
      • Ultrasonic Immersion
      • Ultrasonic Immersion with Shear Wave
    • Retain the certification or provide verifiable documentation of past certification as described NAS410 to perform as a certified inspector in Level 2 Ultrasonics.
    • 6 months demonstrated experience in the use of basic hand tools for setting up equipment, fixtures, and parts for inspection.
    • Pass the eye test requirements per NAS410. (Near vision 20/25 and color perception)

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Multiple Certifications held in NDT. (3 points)
    • Technical degree or Vocational degree in NDT. (2 points)
    • Proficient in the use of shop math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and use of fractions and decimals) with the ability to learn and apply trigonometry and geometry. (1 point)
    • Understands repair process and service induced discontinuities related to aviation hardware overhauled and repaired. (1 point)
    • Experience in basic computing (1 point)
    • Experience performing basic CNC and/or Robotic programming used for inspections. (1 point)
    • Experienced in the use basic shop mechanical measurement equipment such as mics, verniers, dial indicators, or length scales. (1 point)
    • Knowledge of material and chemical handling practices. (1 point)
    • Ability to perform basic machine preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment to known standards. (2 points)
    • Experience operating material handling and lifting devices, including ability to obtain forklift license if required (1 point)
