BAE Systems, Anniston, AL is seeking a Facility Mechanical Engineer to manage projects and support the production presses at our Anniston Forge site. The position will report directly to the site Facility Manager and could support projects across the CMS portfolio or additional Anniston sites. The engineer will also support the local Facility Manager to develop and execute projects in a safe manner and deliver a quality end product to the customer. This position will typically work a 9/80 first shift schedule but will support off shifts and weekends if required.

As a Facility Engineer at the Anniston facility you will:
  • Support Safety and Environmental Objectives, including following policies, conducting area audits, alleviating issues, serving on various committees/teams, supporting risk reduction reviews/actions and sustainability improvement projects
  • Proactively maintain a safe work environment and promote a supporting culture that includes responsibility for safety oversight of contractors and projects
  • Project manage multiple disciplines of contracted construction projects (demolition, electrical, mechanical, structural, carpentry, painting, floor coverings, furniture, etc.)
  • Project manage a variety of subcontractors, reviewing requested work, specifying requirements, writing statements of work, writing and submitting purchase requisitions through Oracle based software, inspecting work and approving payments. This scope includes general construction, facility infrastructure and other services as required.
  • Project manage Architectural and Engineering firms conducting project engineering work
  • Financial responsibilities: assuring expenses are applied to the correct Cost Center and Account assignments, completing projects within schedule/budget constraints, assisting with development of the annual Facilities budget for their work efforts
  • Assist with reviewing documentation associated with all level of complexity projects to include bids, statements of work and project authorizations.
  • Coordinate and oversee completion of activities in all phases of the project cycle for facilities-related construction projects.
  • Perform multiple additional duties and other duties as assigned by the department manager.


Job Requirements:
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or technical discipline and four (4) years of related facilities project experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal
  • Solid problem solving and analytical abilities


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Defense manufacturing environment experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD software
  • Experience with manufacturing database software such as Oracle
  • Master's degree in relevant technical discipline and two (2) plus years of related experience.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $75510 - $128340

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
