The Western Jet Aviation Academy

  • Full time (M-F 7:00a-3:30p)
  • 90 day training course

Are you working towards getting your A&P?  Or potentially have one of the two but working on the other? The WJA Academy is for you! We are looking for people who have always had a passion for mechanical work such as automotive, motorcycle repair, etc. You will be placed in the WJA Academy, spending 90 days learning the WJA Way as well as get "ramped up" to become a strong A&P Technician. WJA Technicians service, repair and assist with the overall maintenance of corporate jet (Gulfstream) aircraft.

Job Requirements:
Position Requirements

  • A passion for mechanical work, aviation background preferred.
  • Mechanical background experience such as automotive, motorcycle, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of operating a personal computer or laptop.
  • Knowledge of job-specific machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Capable of repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Able to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Capable of determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Able to perform tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Able to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  • Ability to control operations of equipment or systems.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
