Mission :    
  • Reporting to the ATR Flight Safety Officer, develop and implement flight safety objectives with external institutions to continually improve the ATR fleet flight safety performance (Regional Safety Plan) ensuring a major impact on the long-term safety performance of our operators associated authorities and other institutions.
  • Develop the strategy to improve the safety context of the developing markets for ATR.
  • Identifying the flight safety risks and opportunities of specific customers or regions focusing on the prevention of injury or loss of life.
  • Development of innovative concepts within the regional aviation eco-system in a multicultural environment that has a long- term positive impact on safety performance.
  • Develop our external safety communication to our stakeholders reflecting our ambition to be a reference for flight safety within commercial aviation.
  • Represent ATR and the interests of our customers, influence key stakeholder leadership being ‘the voice for regional aviation safety’.
  • Providing operational and maintenance recommendations to the ATR Flight Safety Officer and when needed to the ATR Flight Safety Board.
  • In conjunction with the associated departments implement and monitoring the success of the agreed actions

Key Tasks
  • Solve regional, complex, and potentially unprecedented problems impacting multiple organizations within the flight safety system relevant to several functions/operators.
  • On behalf of the ATR Flight Safety Officer, chairing the Regional Safety Plan steering committees and associated meetings and ensuring implementation of the agreed safety actions with senior management and senior experts (typically customer facing )
  • Co-ordinate, lead and be the focal point for support activities launched via the Regional Safety Plan, including strong co-ordination with the Regional Safety Managers based in Singapore, Miami, and Addis Ababa.
  • Leading or influencing safety action plans launched with senior leaders within our stakeholder community e.g., Airbus, ICAO, IATA, FSF, local authorities and customers.
  • Develop face to face network with customers and institutions in addition to strengthening our online multi-media presence reflective of the needs of different cultures and generations.
  • Interfaces include (Customer Care, Technical Desk, Sales, Flight Operations, ATR Training Center, Public Affair, Legal, Engineering, Finance, Programs, Miami & Singapore centers) and externally (operators, authorities, international organizations) and senior management members of the ATR Flight Safety Board
  • While the role is dedicated to pro-active safety actions, you are requested to support the overall accident response process during the initial period of the investigation.
  • Based on investigation feedback ensure dissemination of lessons learnt and best practices.
  • Influence the ATR product policy when deemed beneficial to the safety objectives.

Profile

10&43;years plus experience within the aviation industry

  • Advanced influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial aircraft operations.
  • Knowledge of international safety management systems, safety institutions and authorities.
  • Strong inter-cultural skills.
  • Robust reporting, speak-up and follow-up competencies
