Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide work direction to comply with an operational plan to aircraft inspectors
  • Ensures quality control procedures and inspections are carried out in accordance with Federal Air Regulations and the United Airlines Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP)
  • Position is a supervisory member of the Air Carriers Inspection Unit in compliance with 14CFR121.369(8) and 14CFR121.371b and as such has inspection decision authority and responsibility
  • Conduct Supplier Base General Maintenance Manual training to suppliers as needed
  • May support other Air Operators in the performance of maintenance and is responsible to ensure the work performed complies with the customers regulatory and maintenance program requirements
  • Participates as a partner with overall Maintenance Team to ensure quality systems are in place and effective
  • Travel 75 to 100 of the time
  • Execute Daily Operational plan and follow up
  • Monitor and control compliance to FAA Approved Required Inspections and other Inspection tasks performed
  • Short term guidance and direction to subordinates
  • Apply Continuous Process Improvement and implement process, tooling and systems improvement initiatives as appropriate
  • Achieve Operational budget plan, including overtime expense
  • Achieve Employee and Ground Safety Plan
  • Achieve Acceptable Quality Assurance ratings
  • Achieve Acceptable Employee Dependability levels
  • Engaging with suppliers, including manufacturers, to understand their quality control systems
  • Ensure Inspections are performed accurately and in a timely manner to support operational demands
Qualifications

      What’s needed to succeed:
      • High School and post High School Aviation Maintenance Technical Training or equivalent Associate Certificate or Military Aviation Training
      • FAA Air frame and Power plant Certificate
      • Two years Inspection experience of large transport aircraft
      • Experience supervising maintenance or inspection personnel
      • Understanding of Engine Systems and structure, Federal Air Regulations, Operator Maintenance and Inspection Program, including Maintenance Procedures and Repair
      • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing methods and principles
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
      • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
      • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
