We have an exciting remote opportunity for an Associate Director - PLM Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leader of the DT team of SMEs, analysts, developers, and administrators responsible for our Pratt enterprise PLM Platform (including CAD/CAM solutions; Teamcenter, NX, etc.).

  • Responsible for day-to-day tasking, prioritization, and overall support of the deployed DT PLM team.

  • Execute on solution delivery for all active PLM projects in coordination with cross-functional teams.

  • Review our existing vendor service and project agreements, then propose optimizations to cost, deliverables, and execution.

  • Be the focal for project management deliverables for the PLM team (schedules, risks, planning, issue resolution, opportunities, etc.).

  • Lead the roadmap conversations to build near-term and long-term strategies (1-year to 5-year to 10-year vision with milestones), working with the Technical Fellows within DT & Engineering.

  • Partner with our Engineering teams to provide service uptime and meet all SLAs (work to address any downtime and associated root-cause analysis).

  • Create and manage the project structure of the team and resource assignment & allocation.

  • Align with the overall DT infrastructure strategy, plus the broader RTX roadmap for PLM, Engineering Systems, hardware, datacenters, licensing.

  • Vendor collaboration with our major hardware, software, and services suppliers, leveraging them for input on strategy, risk reductions, and partnership opportunities.

  • Develop talent within the team, both technical and leadership, to ensure the appropriate skills and growth paths for employees; responsible for hiring, interviews, lateral talent moves as needed.

  • Grow our PLM DevSecOps pipelines, in collaboration with SMEs / DT Infra DevOps / RTX, to enhance our ability to deliver new capabilities with high quality and minimal overhead.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree (preferred fields include Computer Science, Engineering, MIS) and 12+ years of experience in Information Technology; OR an Advanced Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and 10+ years of experience in Information Technology.

  • U.S. Citizen (required due to Government contractual requirements).

Other Required Skills:

  • 7+ years’ experience within engineering, product lifecycle management, or other similar technical role.

  • 5+ years’ experience with Project Management and leadership of a technical team.

  • Knowledge of engineering processes (PLM, engineering analysis, workflows / approval routing, computational fluid dynamics or finite element analysis work).

  • Experience with successful delivery of enterprise PLM deployments & major upgrades.

  • Experience with PLM cloud options and DevSevOps (software pipelines; cyber security; testing best practices; automations of build/deploy steps).

  • Multiple years of leading scrum / agile deliveries; able to run daily standups, planning sessions, demos / reviews (Certified Scrum Master preferred).

  • Able to advise on Secure Classified Computing strategy (able to get a security clearance if required).

  • Possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, can develop clear, concise and logically written business communications, as well as deliver recommendations effectively to demanding audiences.

  • Proven track record of delivering solutions and solving problems.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness working in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to build strong relationships to leverage information and insights across key groups.

  • Strong personal leadership, organizational, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.

  • Self-starter with self-confidence, enthusiasm, and strong customer service orientation.

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced degree.

  • Certified Scrum Master.

  • Highly skilled at analyzing business processes for opportunities on digital solutions.

  • Experience in supplier management, Project Management, SDLC, Waterfall and Agile methodologies; certified scrum master.

  • Good communication skills, work ethic, and a high level of personal integrity and accountability.

  • Highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a solid ability to drive and deliver results.

  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, examples of effective teamwork, a track record of consistently meeting deadlines and due dates.

  • Comfortable working with minimal daily supervision and balance priorities.

  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, in a fast-paced environment of complex business priorities.

  • Experience designing and implementing automated solutions.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
