As a Deployed Aircraft Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling all aircraft repair and maintenance activities and ensuring those activities are performed safely, on-time, and within budget. Youll ensure all foreign object inspections and activities are completed, ensure projects are properly staffed with qualified employees and establish work standards, hours of work and appropriate shifts to be worked to accomplish work on larger programs at one or more geographical overseas locations. Youll also review maintenance delays and system problems in order to suggest improvements to maintenance processes and procedures. You will have overall responsibility for the airworthiness of the fleet and will ensure safe and adequate maintenance is performed at all times. The Deployed Aircraft Maintenance Manager will support the Field Site Manager and will be responsible for all aircraft maintenance actions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Provide Aircraft maintenance support in a high OPTEMPO environment, meeting or exceeding required Mission Capability (MC) rate of 80 at an overseas location.

  • Provide Management oversight and scheduling for a team of A&P Mechanics.

  • Plan and scheduled upcoming phase maintenance (manpower & parts) accordingly through research of Time Life Reports.  Coordinate upcoming schedule with Field Site Manager and Customer for minimal impact to flight schedule.

  • Able to interpret manufacturer and internal manuals, drawings, technical references and CAMPS documents.

  • Work directly with the Field Site Manager, customer, and end user on the Field Site as well as other contractors to coordinate and schedule and maintenance activities.

  • Provide customer feedback to appropriate personnel to help ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Experience with aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.

  • Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection processes and procedures and/or returning planes to service.

  • Oversee all tooling, calibrated tools and Haz Mat items.

  • Provide the interface between field personnel and depot personnel as required.

  • Review system data to identify system/operator errors and provide feedback to field service personnel, operators, and/or analysts.

  • Work directly with engineers during periodic system upgrades or replacements.

  • Interview and assist with the hiring of support service personnel.

  • Provide input and metrics for daily Situation Reports (SITREP) detailing the Field Site status WRT operation, maintenance, personnel, near term plans and issues.

  • Provide input for monthly reports summarizing the most important aspects of the daily SITREPs and discussing longer term trends and issues.

  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. 

  • Work on complex technical problems to provide solutions.

  • Compliance with all Security Protocols on and in support of Aircraft Operations.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelors degree in related field
    •Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Minimum 6 years experience

  • Global 6500 or similar jet experience

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification/license and Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.

  • Deep understanding with FAA regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Comprehensive knowledge with aviation safety standards, safe operating practices, aircraft maintenance and inspection processes, procedures and/or returning planes to service

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and conflict resolution skills

  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Familiarity with standing up and managing aircraft operations in overseas locations

  • Progressive experience with Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection processes and procedures and/or returning aircraft to service.

  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.

  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and flexibility.

  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command restriction requirements for deployed locations

  • Completion of the CAE Global Training Course

  • Previous OCONUS deployment experience managing personnel and aircraft in remote locations.

  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
