Job Summary: The Director of Maintenance (DOM) is directly in charge of the Maintenance department and reports to the General Manager for the maintenance operations of the Repair Station. They shall have the authority to oversee and delegate maintenance tasks to accomplish company / customer goals. They will determine the qualifications of all maintenance employees prior to work assignment through evaluation of previous experience or review of training records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• DOM must be certificated under 14 CFR Part 65.
• Management of the Maintenance Department, including all Maintenance personnel actions.
• Develops and sustains that all maintenance, repair, and alteration activities are conducted with high workmanship standards.
• Ensures 100 safe, on time, properly configured, reliable aircraft.
• Ensuring that maintenance personnel assigned are trained and qualified to do the tasks for which they are assigned.
• Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts, and applications of maintenance directives, data reporting, and using approved technical data is mandatory.
• Ensures site functions operate in compliance with Company Policy and other required policys including Airport rules & regulations.
• Completing the Self Audit Questionnaire, AerSale Form R-145 for articles to be added to the Capabilities List and submitted to the Director of Quality / Chief Inspector for review.
• Maintaining the premises of the Repair Station in a clean and orderly manner.
• Maintaining all hangar, shop equipment and tools in a serviceable working condition.
• Preservation of all units or parts during the work process, and storage of removed parts.
• Responsible for meeting cost, schedule, and performance requirements of the contract(s)
• Demonstrate continued efforts to improve operations, decrease cycle time, increase productivity, and decrease overall costs
Education and Experience:
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Must hold a mechanic certificate with both airframe and powerplant ratings.
• Must hold a valid drivers license
• Must be able to pass SIDA/TSA security checks
• Three years experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as required.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift 50 LBS.
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch, and stand for prolonged periods of time as well as walk extended distances.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and service stands.
