The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a First Line Manager, Core Contracting (Level K) to join our dynamic team in St. Louis City, MO; Tukwila, WA; Mesa, AZ; Philadelphia, PA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements.
  • Manages employees from multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines performing activities related to the acquisition of goods and services in support of company operations, supplier assessment and performance improvement, management and improvement of supply chain management and processes and supplier diversity.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Provides oversight regarding negotiation processes and related tools.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position is for 1st shift

Security Clearance & Export Control Requirements:

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with proposal development and contract negotiations
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Supplier Management, Supply Chain, and/or Procurement practices and processes
  • Minimum 5 years of experience do you have interpreting and/or enforcing contract terms and conditions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading projects or teams
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
  • 6 years or more related work experience.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 25 of the time.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Pay range: $110,500 - $159,850
