They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated leader to join their team in this crucial role with the ability to identify key suppliers and shape their manufacturing operation.

Job Summary:

As the Supply Chain Manager, this pivotal role will center around creating a Supply Chain strategy including identifying and establishing partnerships with suppliers. You will play a critical part in the growth and success of this pioneering UAV/drone operation by leveraging your expertise to identify, vet, and collaborate with suppliers who align with their technology. You’ll work closely with a global executive team and drive the development of a robust supply chain to ensure the availability of high-quality components for a UAV/drone that will revolutionize an industry.  

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the global leadership team and drive the development and execution of the company's comprehensive supply chain strategy including the defining of the company's sourcing objectives.
  • Take ownership of identifying, and vetting tier-one suppliers who align with the company's UAV manufacturing requirements in the aerospace and/or automotive industries.
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of potential partners' capabilities, quality standards, production capacity, and financial stability.
  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding of a skilled and motivated Supply Management Team.
  • Develop and implement supply chain processes, systems, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to establish purchase agreements including detailed statements of work with selected suppliers.
  • In collaboration with a global leadership team take the lead in negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to optimize costs and secure long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct regular reviews with suppliers to ensure compliance with all elements of the Purchase Agreement and the statements of work.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in supply chain management, including sourcing, procurement, and supplier management.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry, including experience with new product development.
  • Experience in building and leading teams, with a track record of fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Proven ability to successfully operate within and collaborate with global companies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Possess the ability to thrive in a startup setting including the ability to operate comfortably in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment, adapting to changing priorities and challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders both within and outside the US.
  • Flexibility for travel to manufacturing facilities and supplier locations.
  • This position will initially be remote but candidates should be open to relocating to future US Headquarters, potentially in Kansas City metro.
