About the Role:
Define and agree the objectives for the planning and development of a worldwide freighter network for the growth of long term cargo capacity, managing strategic implementation of policies to achieve unrestrained profitable growth. Identify, plan and manage the induction of the future freighter fleet and integrate into the present network in order to gradually build a worldwide network which will facilitate unrestrained and profitable growth. Responsible for maintaining and building a freighter fleet deployment scenario whilst balancing the cargo network and incorporating belly network development and capacity changes.
What you will do:
• Initiate research and analyse data to identify cargo market growth and business opportunities, in order to establish the business objectives in respect of freighter network development requirements, to achieve unrestrained growth. Liaise and agree with Corporate Management strategies to achieve the agreed objectives and manage their implementation, reviewing and reporting the rate of attainment in the context of optimising profits from new markets.
• Own and manage the long term freighter fleet plan whilst assessing overall Emirates fleet growth and deployment. Continuous review and engagement with aircraft manufactures on new freighter programs and technology. Supplement short and long term capacity requirements by strategic induction of wet lease ACMI capacity.
• Liaise with the SkyCargo commercial team on continuous business cases for network growth, BSA opportunities and long term carter programs.
• Initiate negotiations with aircraft lessors, airlines and brokers to obtain the most cost effective capacity in terms of complete aircraft or part aircraft leasing. This is during heavy maintenance or where market opportunity dictates, in order to obtain and generate the maximum commercial and financial benefits for the company whilst at the same time ensuring that corporate policy, service and product quality standards are not compromised.
• Ascertain the areas of sale and routes where existing cargo capacity and distribution capabilities is either insufficient or inappropriate to service the market requirements and devise the appropriate capacity solutions that will service the requirements. Identify new market opportunities and device strategies and implement to exploit these opportunities independent of passenger belly capacity.
• Establish and review on an ongoing basis the commercial viability of all the freighter routes taking into consideration the overall risk to the organisation and the commercial advantages afforded. Make recommendations on the strategic direction to be taken in this regard. This includes initiatives such as making recommendations on the phase in and phase out of the freighter fleet as well as short to medium term wet leases.
• Establish objectives for scheduled leased freighter operations and develop a freighter network, plan and compile annual budgets, both revenue and costs, for scheduled leased freighter operations for inclusion in the departmental revenue and overhead budgets. Define strategies and implement to achieve the stated objectives and produce periodic reports detailing the rate of attainment against objectives in order to assess the commercial and financial contributions devised from leased cargo capacity. Liaise with the system-wide Cargo Sales Departments and representative organisations to solicit feedback on requirements, keep informed of developments and opportunities in order to optimise business opportunities and financial returns.
• Liaise with internal departments and external organisations as required in inducting Emirates operated large freighters such as the Boeing 777F, assessing the procedures and processes needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure that all contractual commitments and undertakings with third party lessors and lessees are in accordance and comply with International Conventions, Regulations, Rules, Corporate Policy, Conditions of Carriage and Insurance requirements in order to protect the companys legal integrity and liability.
