Responsibilities

This position is one of the driving forces of revenue creation and maximization for one of the fastest growing airlines on EarthWith ancillary products representing roughly 50 of the organization’s revenue, this position has the Captain’s seat to re-define and shape the future of our 3rd party ancillary partnerships such as travel insurance and vacation package revenue (hotels, cars, attractions) for our leisure-centric airline. The Manager II, Packaging Partnerships reports to Sr. Director, 3rd Party Distribution. 

 

  • Product Management – From ideation to execution, the driving force behind new product initiatives for vacation packages and 3rd party ancillary partnerships. Working with a cross-section of team members to ensure we think about the entire business (from Network Planning and Airport Operations to Guest Care), learning multiple facets of the industry to ensure we make the best overall product decisions. 
  • Partner Management / Negotiation - works closely with all stakeholders (internal and external) to become the SME ensuring we know our partner’s products – from travel insurance to rental cars to Las Vegas suitesHelp ensure we holistically work with our partners to drive incremental business and improvements to our mutual Guest experiences togetherNegotiate new contracts that provide Spirit and our partners value as we identify new opportunities in an ever-expanding arena of partners that provide greater value to our Guests on their travel journey. 
  • Drive Vacation Packaging Revenue – improve and drive our vacation packaging offerings and standalone productsWork closely with all channel owners and business analysts to find and document opportunities to provide exposure to packaging products and drive additional revenueCollaborate and suggest A/B and multivariate tests that provide value to our Guests and improve revenue or user experienceWork closely with IT to understand systems limitations and find faster ways to deliver on key initiatives.  
  • Innovation and Industry Trends – Knowing what others are doing, especially in the travel industry is key to ensuring our products remain competitiveEnsure we always keep a close eye on changes that others make inside and out of the industry to ensure Spirit stays competitive for all our 3rd party ancillary productsLeverage what our key partners are doing to improve revenue and the Guest experience by actively providing feedback to other internal product teams on opportunities Spirit might utilize. 
  • Analysis and Reporting – Knowing the performance of our key products and services is crucially important. Analytical and proactive in asking questions we need to answer both internally and externally including product mix, shifting trends, and key performance drivers as we work together to improve 3rd party products and ensure competitiveness in the marketplaceWork closely with our e-commerce team to utilize additional data and insights from Spirit.com to drive actionable product decisions for all distribution channels. 
  • Ensure consistent distribution and marketing – Work to ensure we are adequately promoting our optional services in all appropriate channels, including working closely with our 3rd party distribution team as applicableEnsure all product information is consistent, up to date, and on brand throughout all distribution channels and work closely with internal training teams to ensure team members have the best information to assist our Guests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Marketing, or Finance.
  • 5-7 years’ experience Business Administration, Marketing, Advertising, or Promotions.
  • Product management:  Knowledge of the Product Life Cycle and what is necessary to take ideas and turn them into tangible assets by working with all team members across IT, Operations, Guest Care, Network Planning, Legal, and many other teams to drive 3rd party ancillary revenue while meeting other business objectives. 
  • Partner Management / Negotiation: Experience negotiating with partners of varied backgrounds and industries to find mutual opportunities and maximize revenue for both partiesExcellent ongoing partner management skills to meet expectations for responsiveness and negotiate the competitive packaging landscape. 
  • Microsoft Office:  A high proficiency with Excel and working knowledge of all of MS Office is necessary to perform daily duties. 
  • Budgeting and Planning:  The ability to accurately forecast revenue and costs. 
  • Resource Planning:  The ability to allocate limited resources for maximum results. 
  • Systems -Thinking: Sees how functions and processes integrate and proactively understands limitations that may impact their respective products and ideate alternatives. 
  • Domestic & International travel approximately 25 of time. 
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. 
  • Hybrid.
