Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Operations Manager, Module Assembly responsible for product delivery across the entire Modular Assembly value stream for the North Berwick Modular Assembly Business.  This is an onsite position working at our North Berwick, Maine campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading Module Assembly Operations within the North Berwick Aero Systems Site. Position will be focused on the leadership of all salaried supervisors and hourly employees within the in the organization in the building of Module Assemblies supporting both Commercial ( NEO, NGPF, & V2500 ), and Military (F135) product families.

  • Leadership across several key business objectives such as execution to MRP and production ramp rates, developing and implementing productivity improvements to yield cost reduction aligned with customer cost curves, manpower planning & cross training strategies to support program growth and attrition, quality leadership focused on first pass yield & process certification, EH&S focus on ergonomic risk reduction & behavior based safety, as well as employee engagement focused on communication & teamwork.

  • Establish systems to track Module progress, identify delays, and drive proactive solutions.

  • Align with Customers to ensure assembly build order is consistent with customer demand.

  • Establish systems to highlight manpower and or material risks to delivery plan.

  • Develop plans and drive to MML and Profit Assurance targets

  • This position is essential to the overall success of the North Berwick Aero System Site and you will have the opportunity to refine and continue to develop key leadership competencies along with an experience in a wide range of operational aspects of the business.

  • This position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities. Work instructions are available in English only.

  • Travel up to 5.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 10 years of prior Operations leadership experience to include employee supervision, driving financial goals, continuous improvement, Environmental Health and Safety and cross functional collaboration. OR Advanced Degree in a related field and 7 years of prior experience include employee supervision, driving financial goals, continuous improvement, Environmental Health and Safety and cross functional collaboration .

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively lead teams of hourly and salaried associates.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing business conditions

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers Defence Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Pratt & Whtiney Canada (PWC).

  • Strong customer focus, analytical skills, and business knowledge.

  • Experience with and passion for using CORE tools to make process improvements in an assembly environment.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX Corporate will not offer sponsorship for this position.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
