The Planning Supervisor oversees and manages the Planning Department to ensure processes, plans, and schedules on customer orders are based on customer needs and requirements by performing the following duties:

  • Works with Operations as Supply Chain leader in the release of work orders. This includes selection and control of jobs that may need direct handling through the operational process.
  • Works as central point with Sales and Operations to optimize scheduling to drive and meet on-time delivery metrics.
  • Develops recovery plan when delinquencies to the customer occur.
  • Provides leadership and direction to Planners, increasing efficiency of jobs released to the manufacturing floor.
  • Prepares shop routers and methods for customer requirements.
  • Prepares orders for sub components and assemblies.
  • Maintains release files for sequencing of manufacturing lots.
  • Maintains integrity of all customer change requests.
  • Releases manufacturing orders based on customer requirements and manufacturing shop load requirements.
  • Reviews daily manufacturing production reporting data to determine and maintain schedule accuracy.
  • Responds to all reported manufacturing shortages and takes appropriate action to correct.
  • Develop and modify electronic routers to improve accuracy of manufacturing requirements for each operations.
  • Create manufacturing work instructions
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree (preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years Manufacturing experience (aerospace or machining background preferred)
  • Supervisory experience leading teams; Performance management skills. 
  • Analytical skills; Personal accountability; Strong organizational skills. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of organization, especially with direct employees. 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be capable of working effectively with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (specifically with Excel)
  • Must possess excellent problem solving, organizational and verbal & written communication skills.
  • Solid, overall business acumen and a strong mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Attention to detail and an attitude of 100 compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Results oriented.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $85,300 to $125,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
