From airports to boardrooms, our Legal team provides advice and counsel on all aspects of the business, assessing legal risks and compliance, while our Ethics and Compliance team ensures that we run an ethically sound operation. Key Responsibilities:

This new position will help provide day-to-day support on a wide variety of compliance and business matters involving personal data.

United is seeking a Privacy Operations Manager. You’ll be joining our Privacy Team within the Legal Department reporting to United’s Senior Managing Counsel – Compliance, Ethics, & Privacy. In addition to collaborating with Privacy Counsel, you will work cross-functionally with Privacy Risk Management & Engineering, business owners, Digital Technology partners, and others.

  • Leads operational management of privacy program requirements, processes, and goals
  • Supports the company’s privacy program through various tasks and responsibilities, including assisting with privacy impact assessments, transfer impact assessments, contract reviews, and privacy incident management
  • Analyzes and handles data subject requests and inquiries
  • Develops and executes scalable, systematic processes for documenting and updating data processing records
  • Coordinates development and delivery of privacy training and communications with Privacy Counsel
  • Establishes and maintains mechanisms for assessing and demonstrating continuous privacy program improvement with key metrics
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with business owners, Digital Technology partners, privacy liaisons, and subject matter experts on privacy matters to build privacy awareness and mitigate privacy risks and contributes to Privacy Risk Management & Engineering Efforts to implement privacy tech tools

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum five years of recent experience in implementing operational processes and projects supporting personal data
  • Deep knowledge of US and international privacy regulations
  • Ability to multi-task, lead multiple high-volume work streams, and remain agile to changes in priorities
  • Proven ability to optimally interact with cross-functional teams to accomplish goals
  • Familiarity with privacy and data governance platforms
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Certifications in data protection and privacy are a plus
