POSITION SUMMARY:

The Procurement Manager will represent the Corporate Procurement Organization in United States, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia Regions. Manage and support activities of staff located worldwide.

This position is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier’s relationship in line with corporate strategies, bringing the best procurement solution in terms of pricing, technical solution, schedule, complying with all Business Units (Eve, Embraer X, Commercial, Executive, Defense, Services and Subsidiaries) necessities and Company’s strategic plan.

Develop and implement procurement policies and strategies worldwide under his/her responsibility considering different cultures, currencies and specific rules and legislation in each of the +10 countries where Embraer is located.

Work in line with the company’s strategic plan focusing on spend, processes, vendor risk management and continuous improvement tools. Attract, develop, manage and retain talent in order to deliver breakthrough performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Standardize and implement operating policies and procedures. Effectively communicate ongoing and upcoming initiatives that affect the organization to site leadership
  • Increase the visibility and profile of the procurement organization across the company in order to address the gaps of knowledge about procurement activities, policies and initiatives
  • Develop and manage procurement strategies and objectives including budgets, plans, policies, systems, and procedures within the organization. Analyze, identify, evaluate, and capitalize on opportunities to maximize value by reducing/avoiding costs and risks and by increasing quality and performance.
  • Develop and manage strong trusted relationships with all stakeholders in order to effectively and efficiently run operations in accordance with the operating model.
  • Manage budget and initiatives to drive clearly defined savings recognition through price reductions.
  • Expand global strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple company subsidiaries.
  • Minimize and manage conflict at all levels by deploying a centralized transparent operating model which maximizes the value of strategic relationship management with all stakeholders.
  • Implement actions to reduce risk and exposure through standardization of contract creation. Exercise authority and influence to ensure internal compliance to corporate procurement policies. Develop action plans to rectify escapes from policy to minimize risk.
  • Establish and manage a formal vendor relationship management program necessary to ensure continuity of sourcing and continuous improvement of supplier’s performance.
  • Support the company’s strategic plan to assure that the acquisition process is in line with technical needs, budget and schedule stablished by the business areas.
  • Improve procurement process, using lean market strategies and tools in order to optimize productivity and quality of the services provided
  • Provide mentoring and supervision to staff members.
  • Monitor and assign work to direct staff and coordinate with other group leaders to balance workload.
  • Review and approve legal agreements, contracts, reports, purchase orders packages above buyer authority.
  • Write and hold performance reviews and conduct career development discussions.
  • Champion organizational objectives and provide guidance to staff members.
  • Responsible for managing any performance issues of staff members.
  • Approve Contracts and PO’s on SAP system
  • Guarantee that all expenses and purchases are within the approved budget
  • Evaluate vendor’s risk for key vendors and scopes, minimizing company’s risk

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar (Supply Chain, Procurement, Economics), Engineering

Experience/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Relationship Management - Experience in customer relations fields, managing all levels of customer and internal relationships
  • Leadership - Experience leading and developing employees
  • Technology - Experience in aviation and procurement related systems including ERP/MRP, vendor
  • management, procurement marketplace, Procure to Pay value stream - Experience working as partner to finance to ensure smooth processing from procurement of goods, goods receipt through to payment
  • Process Improvement - Experience developing, communicating and implementing process improvement initiatives. Trained in P3E processes and active participation in formal Kaizens.
  • Savings & cost avoidance - Experience negotiating terms, tracking and realizing hard and soft savings. Active in leading employees in methods of negotiating.
  • Risk Management - Experience reviewing and providing input to contractual terms to minimize risk for company and ensure best business practices
  • Vendor Management - Experience managing vendor’s performance and relationships
  • Market knowledge and hiring models considering market and product/service category
  • Knowledge of sourcing tools
  • Process knowledge of Procurement, Negotiation and Contract Management
  • Ability to work in a high-performance environment with power of influence during decision making
  • Ability to coordinate meetings and workshop in a multicultural environment
  • Ability to propose and implement different approaches/alternatives to the Business Units aiming problem resolution
  • Knowledge to perform Cost Analysis, Cost Breakdown, Should Cost, Total Cost of Ownership of the services/products under Indirect Procurement scope
  • Logistic Process Knowledge
  • Continuous Improvement Tools knowledge (Kaizen, Yokoten, etc)
  • Multitask, Flexible, Dynamic

Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required.
  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
