Morson have an exciting opportunity to support one of our defence clients as they refurbish a building to change its use and make it more useful to an entire community. You will manage a team of contractors, infrastructure staff and suppliers to ensure a smooth and on time delivery of the project. We’re ideally looking for someone that has a backround in construction or renovation project management, with expertise in particular of repuposing existing structures for new uses.

This role is based in Barrow-in-Furness and is being offered on a 12 month contract basis, with the opportunity of extension or permanent conversion. We can offer the role at a rate 55.00 per hour PAYE or 72.57 per hour Umbrella with 3 days expected on site.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the budget, performance and results of the team.
• Ensures essential procedures are followed based on own knowledge of Project Management.
• Adapts and develops own project plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
• Exercises Project initiation, scheduling, reporting & closure.
• Support supply chain engagement.
• Use general IT skills including MS Office.
• Experienced professional with extensive knowledge of Project Management (tools, techniques, practices).
• Resolve project-related problems that do not have routine solutions, but the norm is to follow established procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Professional PM Qualification or years of practical experience gained through application of Project Management.
• Understanding of Project Management tools, techniques and governance.
• Practical knowledge of relevant SHE legislation and practical compliance.
• Demonstrates good awareness of commercial practices within own project area.
• Developed communication and diplomacy skills. Able to persuade and influence internal & external stakeholders.
• University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry.

• Professional knowledge gained through training and work experience which enables application of specialist skills.
• Membership of relevant professional bodies.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
