In the ever-changing industry of aerospace and defense, CarteNav team members continually push the limit of creativity to develop innovative, industry-leading software to develop new solutions for complex needs and environments. Currently, we are seeking a Project Manager to join our growing team. 

As a Project Manager, you will lead a passionate team of software developers and engineers who play a pivotal role in delivering mission system software applications built using agile software development practices. You will work closely with other teams and departments such as QC, Support, Business Development, and Product Management to ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating great products, cares about client engagements, and wants to make an impact both within the software development teams, and across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management ensuring teams are working towards milestones, deadlines are met, and taking corrective action as necessary to deliver complete scope, desired quality, and timeless of strategic programs
  • Providing a platform for communications and relationship management – engaging stakeholders for buy-on, relieving bottlenecks, and complexity
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders in order to plan and execute projects to meet scope and schedule constraints
  • Represent CarteNav to local and global customers, while managing customer interactions, expectations, and relationships
  • Identify and escalate critical issues in timely manner
  • Defining, estimating, and assessing new projects and/or proposals
  • Work with Product Owners to understand product roadmaps and define delivery schedules
  • Participate and facilitate Release Planning
  • Project and deliverable tracking and reporting
  • Coordinating with other team members to ensure the project is progressing and contractual requirements are met
  • Working within company fulfillment process to ensure customer needs are met
  • Able to travel when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Bachelors’ Degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience leading a project team 
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices, software development lifecycles, and processes
  • Proven project management skills including project planning, estimation, and execution
  • Critical thinker with excellent problem solving and analysis skills, and a desire to delve into technical challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects/tasks
  • An amplitude for process improvement and change management
  • Ability to lead a team in the design, implementation, and on time delivery of software solutions
  • Strong functional and technical leadership skills that create team confidence and mutual respect
  • Ability to motivate team members in a creative and effective manner
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication that clearly conveys information and ideas
  • Ability to lead design reviews and present concepts to senior management
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership to enhance team capabilities and skills
