Job Description SummaryThe Certification Leader works across Aviation Engineering with the Airworthiness & Certification (A&C) group, Regulatory Compliance Engineers (RCEs), Systems Model Engineers, and component Design Engineers to drive all certification efforts and meet required certification dates across the Turboshaft programs. The Certification Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives and develops and integrates processes that meet business needs across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

Execute with limited guidance the assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements.

  • Serve as the Certification Process Coordinator/Leader for Entire Certification Team.
  • Serve as the prime Certification point of contact for the assigned programs to the A&C group.
  • Develop and present all materials to the GE ODA and/or the FAA in support of certifications.
  • Formulate, recommend, and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules, and contract commitments.
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to certification questions/issues.
  • Provide technical guidance to Rotorcraft personnel and related teams.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments.
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering position.
  • Minimum of 1 year of turbomachinery experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous engine certification and/or program requirements experience.
  • Experience working with the A&C organization and ODA structure.
  • Experience interfacing with the FAA Engine Certification Office.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and influence others.
  • Demonstrated process orientation.
  • Engineering experience within multiple turbomachinery disciplines.
