Senior Logistics Manager

As a Senior Logistics Manager for Electronics & Materials here at Honeywell, you will support and lead the continual transformation and improvements toward becoming the best we can be by becoming our u2018go-to in how we perform, how we mature and how we deliver compelling results across all E&M sites within the US, covering external 3PL partners and site logistics whilst collaborating cross-functionally with your colleagues around the globe. You will be comfortable being both strategic and hands-on, a great communicator, drive multiple initiatives in this highly demanding, highly visible role.

You will report directly to our Director of Logistics E&M and youll work out of any of the following locations: Houston, Morris Plains or Charlotte locations.

In this role, you will impact how we drive maturity into our Logistics Service Operations, how we deliver on our commitments, and be an u2018enabler to how we perform and drive Productivity and Continuous Improvement in our cost and service performance. This is a highly visible role that will suit an experienced professional who thrives on autonomy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continue to discover opportunities to drive Productivity and Continuous Improvement in all areas
  • Be the SME for all E&Ms US operations
  • Support our Goals and Initiatives connected to becoming the best we can be
  • Drives breakthrough process improvements in transportation and warehousing to optimize logistics costs and improve On-Time to First Promise (OTFP) delivery service and inventory accuracy. Leads large, complex transformation projects across SBUs
  • Manages strategic direction on projects, leads transformational change, and continuous improvement programs, drives process excellence, innovation, integration, and implementation of technology solutions/automation
  • Develops long-range global logistics strategy and strategic initiatives roadmap and drives implementation that builds capability in People, Processes, and Tools
  • Leads end-to-end logistics operational excellence assessments, generates improvement opportunities, solutions, business cases, and implementation roadmaps
  • Leads internal and external benchmarking against industry bodies, competitors, and peers, and best practices identification and implementation
  • Executes network optimization to optimize logistics costs and improve service performance and support growth
  • Develops logistics KPIs and standardized dashboards and drives continuous improvement
  • Leads and drives a continuous improvement culture
  • Designs and implements an effective and sustainable global logistics governance process across SBUs
  • Harmonizes global logistics processes (value driven playbooks)

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management for manufacturing shippers
  • 3PL, 4PL, multi-modal transportation, must have worked within a highly regulated sector
  • Curiosity, influential communicator at all levels, able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, organized, and challenge the status quo.
  • 5+ years of project management experience

WE VALUE

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business, logistics, or supply chain management. MBA preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Logistics - transportation and warehousing operations
  • Strong project management skills. Demonstrated project management experience and ability to prioritize and manage/balance multiple priorities, objectives, and projects simultaneously to completion
  • Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead people / cross functional and 3PL project teams in a matrix environment to deliver results
  • Proven ability to set, define, and deliver a strategic vision
  • Excellent collaboration and influence with management and cross functional teams. Proven ability to gain commitment at all levels in organization and drive change
  • High process orientation. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Think independently

  • Demonstrated track record of achieving results and operational excellence
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. Ability to present ideas and information in a clear, concise, and organized manner
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced and global complex, multi-cultural environment
  • SAP knowledge/experience
  • Experience in Chemical industry
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • PMP certified, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification

THE BUSINESS UNIT          

This role is specific to Honeywell E&M (Electronics & Materials) which comprises of multiple business units within Honeywell including Electronics, Chemicals and Materials. This is a US role reporting into the E&M Logistics Director who is based in the UK. Our group comprises of 26 sites around the world (internal manufacturing and external 3PL service partners) and the Senior Logistics Manager will be responsible for 13 US sites.
