Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Senior Project Manager Specialist (Level 4) to join the 777 Fuselage Engineering team based out of Everett, Washington.

This role is part of the 777 Fuselage Engineering team. Our purpose is to design, develop, certify, and build the Fuselage for 777 Freighter & Passenger airplane derivatives. You will be part of a hard partnering team of diverse engineers, supporting the overall design and development of the 777 Fuselage programs.

In this role, you may be supporting design and development of the new 777-8 Freighter Fuselage activities integrating with several design centers, industry partners and suppliers around the globe.  The program has critical gated milestones to support significant amounts of design and stress activities.

This project management role may also support 777-9 Airframe development Engineering projects, including, but not limited to PRR Engineering change incorporation and certification deliverables.  This Engineering team is also responsible for supporting Everett Factory manufacturing and our global supply chain partners, addressing Engineering Liaison Requests (ELRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs) for the 777-production system.

The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience in new airplane development / sustaining activities in the Airframe area, preferably in Fuselage.  You will need strong business acumen, communication and problem-solving skills to build and enhance relationships with key stakeholders and partners. This position will also require a collaborative spirit as it will be responsible for cross team and cross functional alignment which is essential to ensure overall success of business goals and objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partnering closely with technical Engineering teams and airplane program teams to integrate and execute Fuselage Engineering activities for the 777 program.

  • Coordinating and collaborating with factory and supplier manufacturing teams for production efficiency. 

  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams including Airframe, Systems, Interiors, Mechanical-Hydraulic, and Propulsion engineers, managers, and supply chain agents to support and execute -8F release activities and / or factory integration.

  • Embedding lean principles and integrate across IPTs and functions resolving cross-team issues related to partnerships and integration, as appropriate.

  • Aligning key stakeholders and manage project through milestones to completion of schedule and in budget.

  • Responsible for maintaining metrics on all aspects of performance to plan in support of the 777 Fuselage Engineering activities including on-time release performance and first pass quality metrics.

  • Scheduling planning and integration events for complex Engineering projects using typical project management tools such as MS Project and Milestone Professional.

  • Supporting planning for Engineering staffing needed throughout various phases of project development and execution.

  • Partnering with Finance on tracking budget accounts needed for various Engineering projects and resources. Initiate budget offload requests as necessary for resources requirements.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience with Project Planning, Scheduling, Project Management or related experience

  • 5+ years of experience working on research and development projects

  • Ability to travel 10-20 of the time, both internationally and domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, or systems Engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proficient with MS office tools and /or other Project management tools

Typical Education/Experience: 
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years related work experience, 14 years related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $116,000.00 - $125,000.00
