Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site is looking for a Quality Lineside Flowline Supervisor to join our A320 Quality Team in Mobile, AL

You will be part of a team Leading and developing the Flowline Quality Line Side Inspection Team, ensuring that the Level 3 qualification of inspection personnel is in accordance with the Airbus Qualification requirements.

Near ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges:

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead/Develop: 40

  • Lead and develop the Flowline Quality Line Side Inspection Team, ensure that the Level 3 qualification of inspection personnel is in accordance with the Airbus Qualification requirements.
  • Ensure that NCs are managed and drumbeat from creation to closure, that Andons, and Ultimate Andons are priority for all within the MFT.
  • Responsible focal point for all Customer presentations and customer interactions.
  • Conducts training to insure optimum performance in job procedures and methods of lead employees and other assigned technicians. Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations/company policies and procedures relating to workmanship.
  • Represent Flowline to other departments and levels of the FAL. Collaborate with other departments to facilitate problem resolution and process improvement.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations, makes recommendations regarding personnel actions and collaborates with Quality Manager in employee communication and communicating on personnel actions.
  • Plan and control workload of all assigned employees to ensure on time delivery per approved schedule. Coordinate with and obtain support from the assigned team.
  • Able to provide efficient feed-back analysis and trend to management.

Process Assurance: 40

  • Ensure that all EASA-POA regulatory requirements are implemented and used in the Flowline Product Quality and manufacturing organization.
  • Ensure that all technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft are carried out to the POA standards, inspection plans and attested.
  • Ensure together with Operations the competence- and qualification management of Operations and Quality Focal Point for the production delegated Inspectors in area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that the Aircraft production and the milestone FOT is in compliance with the Quality, cost and lead-time targets of FAL-USA.
  • Define and implement work level processes based on the experience and recommendations from existing FAL operations. Identifies opportunities and implements adaptations for local application of such ideas.
  • Ensure that employees are in compliance with OSHA, safety and environmental regulations.

Risk Mitigation/Management: 20

  • Risk mitigation of quality escapes endangering the aircraft built and or product safety, launch of immediate corrective actions
  • Support the deployment & implementation of sustainable improvement projects and standardize way of working like Quality Excellence
  • Responsible Focal Point for all external EASA Audits in area responsibility
  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement including leading activities and document progress.
  • Collaborate with the procurement function to ensure the acquisition of needed consumable materials as well as tools and other equipment.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:
  • Preferred: Bachelors’ degree in Aeronautical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in Aviation (Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly Processes, Production method, etc.)
  • Work with non-conformities and design query notes
  • Work with quality management system
  • Work with the principles, practices, methods and tools used in aircraft manufacturing
  • Preferred: Experience as a member and leader of an international team.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
  • Ability to work in different production management systems
  • High degree of flexibility and initiative
  • Knowledge Aircraft manufacturing process with strong emphasis on Structure/Mechanical/ Paint Tasks
  • Knowledge of health safety and environmental regulation
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with internal customer
  • Must be able to use Microsoft office and/or Google Suite and SAP
