Role and Responsibilities
As a C-130J Qualified Flying Instructor, you will provide specialist instruction (ground school, simulator and live aircraft), conduct training development, including development of courseware and training material, as well as provide technical and administrative support to the execution of the C-130J pilot training program.
This is a permanent full time position, based at RAAF base Richmond, NSW.
The role we are offering you
- Personal and team responsibility to provide ground based, simulator and live aircraft instruction for RAAF students
- Identify and remediate students experiencing difficulties in achieving required competencies
- Assess courseware against operation of simulation training devices and work with a team of training development specialists to suitable amend as required
- Act as a subject matter expert for courseware technical review
Our ideal candidate has:
- Minimum 1000 command hours on multi-engine, multi-crew, medium/heavy aircraft or equivalent
- Proven instructional experience in an aircrew training environment
- Previous experience as a military flying instructor is ideal
- Highly desired to have previous pilot check and training experience on the C-130J
- Ideally have experience in design and development of aircrew training material

Security requirements
As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
