Position Summary

The Evaluator, Operational Quality plans and performs evaluations under the JetBlue Quality Management System (QMS). The Evaluator partners with operational counterparts to measure, analyze, and improve all aspects of operational quality to ensure effectiveness and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory policies.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing the oversight of QMS and performing timely, detailed, and independent reviews to support improvement initiative efforts across a diverse operational setting.
  • Develop a teaching environment and culture around QMS including awareness, continuous improvement, and procedure compliance.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute audits, document reviews, process mapping, field observations, and other investigative tools to assess for improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare, vet, and present comprehensive reports, readouts, updates, proposals, and other documentation to support project output needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate confidently and effectively with all levels of management, peers, Business Partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Partner with operational departments in the development, monitoring, and control of corrective action plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Three (3) years of QMS, quality engineering, internal auditing, or similar relevant experience
  • Some familiarity with quality management tools and problem-solving methodology, including but not limited to root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and Lean Principles
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with other teams within and outside of JetBlue
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Must produce articulate and concise written reports and presentations which will be communicated to JetBlue leadership
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Available for occasional field work and overnight travel (approximately 30%)
  • Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two (2) years of internal auditing experience in the aviation industry and/or experience working directly with a Quality Management System
  • Experience with interpreting and analyzing regulations, operating procedures, manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun
  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $56,500.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which includes healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
