Job Description

Grow your career by joining a technical team dedicated to creating high-quality products using the latest technology. You will be part of a team responsible for the sales channel (B2C site), one of the most important at Transat.

The incumbent will act mainly as an expert in the field of the online sale of airline products as well as other fields related to this sector of activity. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing the organizations business context, identifying issues, identifying best practices, and proposing solutions that meet business needs.

Furthermore, the incumbent will interact with the various Transat teams and solution providers during the design and development of these solutions.

  • Actively work with other Transat teams to analyze new business requirements;
  • Evaluate, propose, design, validate solutions and develop action plans to implement solutions that align with the business requirements, while ensuring the security, integrity, and performance of applications in production;
  • Draw upon your expertise of Transat systems and travel industry best practices to facilitate the implementation of various solutions;
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes or otherwise innovate solutions using application features;
  • Work closely with IT solution providers and collaborate with other teams to ensure that new solutions and features;meet the business requirements as well as function adequately and effectively once delivered into production;
  • Master and maintain subject matter and technical expertise related to the process of selling airline products on websites as well as airline post-booking operations;
  • Act as SME and technical expertise for all questions related to airline e-commerce systems and participate in solutions meetings during the project start-up phase;
  • Support and train the team’s systems analysts to provide adequate support for the systems used by the business units;
  • In collaboration with the team’s system analysts, provide 3rd-level application support following production deployments;
  • Validate the UAT plans prepared by the business teams to ensure the business requirements are covered during testing (including complex use cases);
  • Produce and maintain detailed system documentation for airline e-commerce solutions, while conforming to the enterprise architecture plans and norms;
  • Occasionally, assume a project manager role and coordinate the execution of activities related to the delivery of a release;
  • Synthesize, tailor, and adapt information from various sources and present it to target audiences to facilitate the understanding of complex situations and help with the decision-making process;
  • Meet, advise and assist the expert users and the user request originators, to provide the technical support and the training needed for the optimal use of business systems, hardware, and software;
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) with various IT support teams for the problem troubleshooting and to answer any user questions;
  • Review the system performance and recommend the required improvements;
  • Write, validate, and gather all documentation related to the technical and operational aspects of the business systems;
  • Provide support to the super users.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Information Technology or in a related discipline. A relevant combination of education, training, and experience in Information Technology may also be considered for this position;
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the Information Technology field, with at least 5 years’ experience in an IT Analyst or similar role;
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills, demonstration of a high capacity for synthesis, and experience in designing and improving complex processes;
  • Experience in working with outsourced IT service providers;
  • Experience in working with remote teams, located in various geographical locations, using remote technology tools;
  • Knowledge of e-commerce;
  • Knowledge of application or system development life cycle processes;
  • Knowledge of the travel industry, with technologies used in the online sale travel products (an asset);
  • Knowledge of database diagrams, system flow diagrams, XML schemas (an asset);
  • Bilingualism mandatory (spoken and written);
  • Knowledge of tracking and documentation tools (ex. JIRA, Asana, SharePoint);
  • Proficiency with MS-Office suite.
