The role: Principal Data Science Consultant
As a Principal Data Science Consultant at British Airways, you will be an integral part of our analytics leadership team, driving innovation and shaping the future of our business while delivering our renowned service. Youll lead a data science team acting as an internal consultancy, advising on the best approaches to complex issues and driving transformation across different functions to maximise the value of data and analytical insight.
What you’ll do:
- Head up a data science team, acting as an internal consultancy and championing analytics innovation to grow and improve our business.
- Advise stakeholders and colleagues on the best approaches to resolve complex issues.
- Lead people on projects and play a key role in their career development.
- Manage a portfolio of crucial data science projects.
- Collaborate with senior colleagues to lead the data science workflow.
- Provide expert data science knowledge and coaching to other consultants.
- Build high-profile data science models.
- Manage senior stakeholders in a confident and proactive manner.
- People management of other colleagues.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Hands-on skills in languages such as Python and experience with SQL to query and prototype new metrics.
- Leadership abilities to coach your team in techniques like machine learning, forecasting, and optimisation to develop deep business knowledge and solve challenges.
