This Sr NOC Technology Consultant supports our Purpose by providing research, analysis, and coordination for developing and implementing the Enterprise strategic plan, with a particular focus on Network Operations Planning (NOP) within Southwests NOC. The NOP Teams help to coordinate operational planning for Southwest prior to the day of departure. This role and Team will support the technology used in that planning as well as Enterprise and NOC initiatives. This Sr NOC Technology Consultant is excited to step into this new space, have the opportunity to learn and develop their expertise each day, and help pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

Job Summary

  • Provides research, analysis, and coordination for ongoing development and implementation of the Enterprise strategic plan, with particular focus on the NOC Optimization Products. Maintains responsibility for providing guidance to ensure the work done within product suite accomplishes company and Departmental goals. Partners with the Product Team charged with identifying, prioritizing, defining and implementing various Business and Technology driven initiatives. Partner with various Business Owners and front-line Customers in the NOC and Technology to advise, influence, and drive the creation of strategic or initiative plans and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the research and analysis of trends, the development of new strategies, processes, tools and reports

  • Mentor other team members and help develop Analysts and Consultants within and outside the team

  • Directly involved in understanding, improving and sharing available data sets with other teams within the business

  • Leverage his/hers and the teams technology skills (SQL, Alteryx, Python, R, Tableau, Big Data Concepts) and business knowledge to provide answers to business requests

  • Transform raw data into easily understood, presentable, and actionable findings

  • Lead the development and improvement of models and process including supporting their downline implementation

  • Facilitate and share technical guidance on principles and topics to groups around the business

  • Conducts analysis using optimization and other available tools to create and compare scenarios offering insights into how different ideas perform

  • Drive cross-departmental improvements for processes, staffing, schedule design, and irregular operations preparedness and management

  • Handle and manage multiple concurrent projects assigned to the team

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee&39;s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, product planning, prioritization, and coordination of people and resources

  • Knowledge of strategic and financial analysis and analytical and quantitative skills

  • Highly skilled in PowerPoint to synthesize information and develop presentations for Senior Leadership and affected stakeholders

  • Skilled in written and verbal communication with diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and executives

  • Skilled the Microsoft Office Suite products such as Excel, SharePoint, etc.

  • Skilled in applying a methodical and logical approach to complex problem solving

  • Ability to assume a high level of responsibility and to provide direction in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work under stressful situations and manage time effectively

  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet department objectives and goals

  • Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong

  • Ability to coach and mentor teammates, providing guidance to peers and other team members to transfer knowledge and support their development

  • Ability to communicate in a flexible and effective manner with all levels of Employees and Leadership

  • Ability to demonstrate identifying tradeoffs between immediate operational needs and long term strategic requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Expert-level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in:

    • Solving complex problems and driving multiple stakeholders towards implementable solutions

    • Leading programs that can span multiple work groups and/or departments

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive market salary from $137,250.00 - $152,500.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
