Aviation and Transportation Studies

The department of Aviation and Transportation Studies at Lewis University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor to teach Aviation Flight Management. This is a full-time, non-tenure track role.

Primary Responsibilities:
Teach a total of 12 credit hours per semester at the undergraduate level. Advise undergraduate students on program progression and on academic success. The candidate will also advise undergraduate students on professional development. Required to gain Lewis University certification and online training utilizing the Blackboard technology delivery system. Actively participate in department meetings, student advising, professional and scholarly pursuits, and other duties as assigned by the Department Chair(s).
Job Requirements:
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in aviation and a minimum of four years’ experience in aviation systems in general, corporate, military, or airline aviation flight programs. Candidate must be able to stay abreast of current industry trends and developing aerospace technologies. Candidate must also possess FAA certifications including an FAA Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidate should possess a Master’s degree, a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate, an Air Transport Pilot Certificate, or other credentials pertinent to aviation flight training.
