Job Description:

We are now recruiting for the role of Senior Cargo Sales Support Officer.  

Based in Chicago and as part of the Cargo leadership team, you will need to bring a strong transformational and growth-oriented mindset to ensure the analytical needs of our business are well understood and clearly articulated to meet business objections.  

Specific Accountabilities Include: 

  • Identify areas to support and improve, you will help drive transformational activity and create a culture that challenges the status quo.  A key focus will be ensuring the cost reduction project includes GHA fees, GSA commission levels, rental agreements and customs penalties.
  • Identify potential new alliance and driving maximum value from their partnerships.  This includes leading the strategic and performance reviews of partnerships as well as providing commercial recommendations to the regional management team.  This involves integration between the alliance team in Doha, engaging with new partners in the region.
  • Making suggestions to drive improved performance across QR Cargo. 
  • Driving a range of transformative initiatives which includes implementation of pricing strategies.  You will drive business process improvements to ensure efficiency and quality outcomes.  
  • Analyze revenue trends and highlight exceptions to management.  
  • You will partner with a sub-region management team to report on, plan and forecast the business’ expected revenue.  
  • Assist regional management in providing information for budgeting and budgetary controls to enable them to exercise effective control over the sub-region.  
  • Provide accurate and updated tonnage forecasts on scheduled freighter, passenger services and mini-freighter services to regional management teams on a daily basis for the region.  
  • Prepare and work with relevant key personnel on annual BSA contracts for the region.  
  • Support the regional management team in response to any emergency or a major operations disruption affecting QR or its subsidiaries.  
  • Performing other department duties related to their position as directed by the head of department.  

Qualifications

About You: The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • High School qualification/Vocational Qualification/Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum 5 years of job-related experience.  
  • Or a Bachelors degree or equivalent with minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.  
  • Basic knowledge in Cargo operations would be an advantage.  
  • Project Management
  • Strong Quantitive and Qualitative Analytical Skills
  • Presentation Skills
  • Time Management 
  • Working Knowledge of English
  • High Level MS Office proficiency – Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Business modeling experience and ability.
