Description
LOCATION FOR 2009: Burlington, VT;Sandston, VA; Austin, TX; San Juan, PR; North Little Rock, AR; Birmingham, AL. Direct, organize, maintain and coordinate with AE field service function within the specified geographic or home office area, as assigned. Provide technical service, logistics support, training, warehousing/inventory control and accident/incident investigation support as required.
Responsibilities
Provide efficient and safe support to customer and operator activities as required in assigned area. Report the diagnosis of failures and malfunctions of helicopters and/or systems to determine cause and corrective action required to attain operational readiness and airworthiness. Maintain understanding of customer utilization of helicopters, FAR‘s, maintenance procedures, facilities, and personnel capabilities. Assist customers in establishing spare parts and tool inventories by providing provisioning lists and maintenance/operational information to the customer. Provide assistance or guidance to customer to determine the best methods for eliminating deficiencies, executing maintenance actions, modifying, installing retro-fit kits in accordance with approved technical data. Support AE Marketing by providing support to demonstration helicopters; attending various trade shows and exhibits; and other public relations duties as required. Prepare for and conduct field maintenance seminars as directed and approved by the Manager, Field Service. Conduct formal classroom type instruction for customers in the field on any part of the helicopter or its systems as required. Conduct periodic courtesy visits to all customers in assigned area in accordance with current AE policy; ensure mandatory visits with new customers. Participate in and/or conduct special surveys as directed by the Manager, Field Service. Maintain current technical knowledge on all models of aircraft in assigned area. Attend annual classroom refresher training at home office training center or parent company location. Maintain current knowledge of all AE business practices to be able to discuss any technical, logistical, warranty, spares or trade account problems customer may encounter. Provide support and/or conduct accident investigation activities as required. Prepare and submit reports to AE in accordance with the Field Service Operating Procedures Manual. This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employee will also perform other tasks as assigned.

| Requirements: |
Experience Requires a minimum of five (5) years related experience on Eurocopter and/or American Eurocopter product line. Requires knowledge of helicopter engineering and maintenance including knowledge of provisioning, spares, warranty and AE business practices. Requires the ability to work independently and to exercise good judgment. Essential Functions Requires the ability to speak and hear clearly during telephone conversations with internal and external customers; able to provide clear and concise troubleshooting methods; able to compose written documentation and to read and interpret various types of technical drawings, data and specifications; able to use a computer and associated software; able to work independently; and be able to travel on a regular basis. Education AA degree in aircraft engineering, business administration, or related field and/or equivalent work experience. A current A&P license or equivalent is required. |
