| Job Desc: |
Position Overview: Responsible for all technical operations on assigned aircraft. Guides and assists a crew of shop personnel in all technical operations to ensure that quality work is accomplished successfully. Keeps customers informed on the progress of the job. Identifies and orders parts required to complete jobs. Responsible for implementing all paperwork related to job orders. Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with the Inspection Department to ensure quality standards are met. Responsible for releasing aircraft to inspection when the job is completed. Ensures that safe work practices are employed consistently on each aircraft job or throughout the shop. Job Duties: •Crew Chiefs are responsible to Department Leaders for the overall performance of assigned personnel. •Comply with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Quality Procedures (QPs) and Local Work Instructions. •Advise Quality Leader when changes to Quality System and associated documentation are required. •Plan, direct and coordinate activities within assigned work scope and plan activities in conjunction with other departments. •Maintain assigned work areas in a clean and orderly manner. •Supervise a crew of technicians and/or shop personnel in the performance of maintenance. •Provide technical guidance to technicians on aircraft maintenance and/or engine configurations, as well as Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and enhancements. •Must be up-to-date on scope of required maintenance and coordinate efforts to ensure a timely turnaround. •Evaluate proficiency of assigned personnel. •Ensure that crewmembers are well trained on assigned aircraft and/or engines and are scheduled for periodic technical training in-house or at designated off-site locations. •Work cooperatively with other Crew Chiefs/Team Leaders or shops to ensure cross-training on other aircraft and/or engines. •Train and assist assigned personnel in proper work procedures and practices. •Manage overall work in-progress on assigned projects and make necessary adjustments to personnel and resources. •Pre-plan work scopes including deployment of manpower, pre-ordering parts, opening Work Order (W/O) and debriefing customers. •Make work assignments based upon scheduled outdates and technical expertise of personnel. •Monitor hours charged to a job to ensure that costs are controlled and outdates are met. •Review personnel time cards on a daily basis to verify accuracy of time charged to W/O. •Accomplishes final review of W/O documentation prior to Final Release of articles. •Ensure that work performed is accurately reflected on W/O by adding Job Cards (J/Cs), as required. •Inform Department Leaders of problems and work status so that communications with the customers are timely and complete. •Provide tools and test equipment necessary to perform maintenance. •Maintain equipment and tools in a serviceable and working condition, ensuring that periodic checks and calibrations are made, as required. Ensure that: •Maintenance performed by assigned personnel is accomplished In Accordance With (IAW) technical data acceptable to FAA. •Personnel have proper training records for the assigned work. •Assigned personnel perform quality work. •Proper tools and test equipment are used to perform maintenance. •Articles receive proper handling, preservation, and storage during the maintenance process. •Non-conforming articles are properly identified and segregated from serviceable articles. •Maintenance activity is properly documented on W/O and associated Quality documentation. •Complete work transfer documentation between work shifts to ensure continuity of work. •Perform "hands on" maintenance, as required, to assure on-time departures and customer satisfaction. •Perform final "walk around" to ensure aircraft cleanliness and readiness for departure. •Support and adhere to safety, environmental, and general housekeeping policies. •Are proactive in the area of safety, promote safe work habits to the crew, monitor the work environment for safety hazards and take steps to address/remove hazards. •Perform other duties as required by the department. •Are appropriately certificated IAW 14 CFR Part 65 and are considered Directly in Charge of Maintenance as defined in 14 CFR Part 145. •May make airworthiness determinations and/or Return Articles to Service (RTS) when authorized by the Quality Leader. •Duties may be delegated, as necessary. However, Crew Chiefs are responsible for the accomplishment of assigned duties and responsibilities. |
| Requirements: |
Qualifications: •High school diploma or equivalent. •10 years experience as an aircraft mechanic •A&P Mechanic Licence •10 years experience on Falcon Jets •Demonstrated technical ability on projects. •Diagnose and resolve technical problems. •Plan, organize and coordinate multiple activities to achieve quality maintenance within established time-frames. •Good interpersonal skills and verbal ability |
