| Job Desc: |
Under supervision of the Lead Technician, the Technician repairs and overhauls various aircraft components based on production needs generated by customer work orders. Work hours are 7:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, or Tuesday - Friday.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Disassembles, cleans, repairs and reassembles aircraft components in an efficient manner using proper repair techniques.
- Completes all documentation (including time card and turnover logs) and maintains work order packets in compliance with FAA standards.
- Completes work orders within targeted or estimated hours on a consistent basis.
- Obtains routine parts for assigned work orders in a timely manner to ensure jobs are completed on time and on schedule. Follows through to ensure parts are received.
- Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing, replacing or fabricating damaged components. Utilizes traveler to complete work orders. Researches additional information as needed.
- Determines correct instruments or tools required to repair aircraft components. Demonstrates acceptable skill level in using precision instruments, hand tools, gauges, shop and testing equipment.

EDUCATION/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of experience and training which qualifies the employee to perform the essential job duties of the position
- Valid FAA Airframe license preferred, or minimum three years work experience in the aviation industry, or similar production or repair facility
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and blueprints
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of chemical composition, including use of chemicals, interactions and disposal methods
- Working knowledge of all current FAA regulations and/or ability to research laws and other government regulations pertaining to the aviation industry
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to interpret and follow written instructions such as those contained in maintenance manuals, service bulletins and travelers
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and customers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information gained in the course and scope of job
- Ability to work some irregular hours
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Ability to effectively read, write and understand the English language
- Possess high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Possess basic decision making and problem solving skills
- Possess basic degree of mechanical aptitude and desire to work with hands
