Structures/Systems Engineer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Works under the supervision of the Chief Engineer in Maintenance Programs
- Responsible for all engineering activity relative to structures and assigned systems of aircraft operated by Pinnacle Airlines.
- Supports FAR 121 continuous analysis and surveillance requirements through monitoring the performance and reliability of aircraft structures
- Acts as the principal engineering liaison with aircraft manufacturer for obtaining structural repair data and substantiation of damage tolerance criteria
- Reviews various manual revisions, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives in order to determine appropriate action
- Formulates Maintenance Program changes, Project Authorizations or other relevant engineering documents
- Monitors inspection program and reviews findings in order to evaluate effectiveness and applicability of tasks involved
- Monitors the effectiveness of corrective actions applied to CASP deficiencies
- Performs technical review of structural and assigned systems component repair documents in order to monitor component reliability, adverse trends, vendor performance and warranty administration.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) as may be assigned from time to time.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must possess the ability to communicate clearly in speech and writing. Must be able to use personal computers for both word-processing and data input functions. Must be able use ladders, work stands, lifts, etc. and be able to work on all areas of the aircraft that may require access during performance of duties.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed at Memphis International Airport. ’’Requires contact with business relationships and FAA.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or equivalent...or any combination of education and experience (emphasis on structures), which enables one to perform the job functions. Must hold a valid Airframe mechanics license and have successfully completed the Systems Course for each Fleet Type.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Analytical, managerial, and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail. May be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays.
