| Job Desc: |
Level II Avionics Technician Duties and Responsibilities: Test, repair, and operate unmanned aerial vehicles, ground control stations, and ground support equipment at March ARB and deployed locations (field environment). Interface with deployment team leaders, supply personnel, Airframe and Powerplant mechanics, pilots and military and civilian UAV pilots. Perform troubleshooting, component removal and replacement, testing and documentation in accordance with military regulations, technical orders and procedures. May require travel within and outside the United States. Some overtime required. Minimum Requirements: Two or more years experience in avionics or electronics and an AA degree or equivalent education. Component level troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and understand schematics, operate electronic test equipment, and solder to mil specs. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education. Must be able to perform a variety of complex tasks and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of avionics and electrical equipment procedures, theories and concepts. Must possess: (1) extensive knowledge and use of electronic test equipment, hand and soldering tools, voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices; (3) ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics and technical orders; (4) the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance ; (5) strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and assess situations and make judgments. The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with avionics, RF, field service, and rework. EOE
