In this role you will test, troubleshoot, repair and operate UAV electronic systems, ground control stations, ground data terminals and ground support equipment, as well as support flight operations on overseas and domestic deployments and oversee maintenance performed by civilian and military customers. It requires sound judgment, common sense and above all an inquisitive outlook that makes you detail oriented by nature. If you are skilled in this area of avionics, plus possess the attributes for success which include: Accountability, Self Motivation, a Willingness and Aggressiveness to learn than this just might be the career opportunity you‘ve been seeking! Salary/Other Monetary Values: Base pay $37K -$52K. Salary offered based on years of experience, electronics training and assessment of technical abilities and salary history. ICP at year end based upon performance, CONUS overtime (including while deployed stateside) per California law, overseas rates typically about 180% of base rate as working rate for every hour worked. Rates increase and are based on environment conditions. Training: Will provide classroom and on the job training (OJT) while working on deliverable hardware. Initial training, OJT and certification period usually requires about 6 months. Medical / Dental / Vision:Outstanding Benefits! Cafeteria system (you only pay for the options you select) Medical – Blue Cross (PPO or HMO) or Kaiser; Dental DMO; Vision care. | Requirements: |
* Able to travel (premium compensation) for 6 to 8 months of the year (2-3 month rotational schedule) both within and outside the Continental United States. * Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense “Secret” Security Clearance.* Knowledge of digital, analog and RF circuits. * Ability to read and understand schematics, operate electronic test equipment, and solder to mil specs.* Strong electronic theory and troubleshooting skills (component level preferred). * Long hours may be required.Education and/or Experience:* Minimum of 1-2 years electronic experience. * Have at a minimum an A.S. degree or military, trade school or equivalent training.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Technical – analog, digital and RF electronics. * Troubleshooting expected (if your experience is only to trade out/swap parts this is not troubleshooting). * Aircraft systems –communication, navigation, power systems, datalinks, servo positioning control, understanding of autopilot and control systems.* Computer networking. * Working in a field environment. -6 months/year embedded with US military in war zones.Environment:* You must be able to deal with the high desert of California! Be prepared, that it will be hot, windy and dusty in the summer and cold, windy and dusty in the winter. Open aircraft hangers and flight line work is typical. * When deployed it will be to US military installations (Iraq and Afghanistan) and are dependant upon the maturity of the base. Some are very rigorous. Although some deployments are living in a hotel or apartment, be prepared for it all - The most challenging conditions during deployment for some (or exciting depending on your view) would be sleeping in a tent on a cot with dirt floors with 10 comrades and eating military rations. * Typical deployment work schedule 84 hrs/week. (12 hrs on/12 hrs off 7 days per week)
