Job Desc: DUTIES: Perform scheduled/unscheduled Organizational Level maintenance on specific applicable VX-31 T/M/S aircraft airframe, ordnance, egress/life support system, power plants and related systems hired to maintain. Perform flight line essential services as directed to daily VX-31 Flight Schedule. Mechanic II‘s shall have Naval Organizational Level experience and documented qualifications for the specific T/M/S platform that they are hired and assigned to support within VX-31. VX-31 Organizational Level maintenance experience and qualifications strongly preferred and desired over other options. The Aircraft Mechanic II maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft egress systems, structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to egress systems, Upload and Download of live and inert ordnance, air conditioning systems, flight controls, power plants and related systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions. Mechanic II‘s apply required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints, applicable T/M/S specific maintenance manuals and directives. Engine Turn Qualified and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) designated contractor personnel shall be at a minimum Level II Mechanics. Mechanic II‘s shall have a documented thorough knowledge of the specific T/M/S VX-31 aircraft hired to maintain for mechanical and ordnance component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, T/M/S specific IMRL equipment, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications, NAMP and NALCOMIS aircraft maintenance applications. The Contractor receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Level Mechanics II shall be able to correctly prioritize workload to maintain schedules and maintenance standards on assigned projects. QUALIFICATIONS: Aircraft Mechanic II shall have not less than 5 years USN/USMC/USCG Organizational Level NAMP aircraft maintenance support experience. These mechanics shall have not less than 3 years T/M/S specific aircraft maintenance experience for the VX-31 T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain. Candidates are strongly desired to be a high school graduate and shall have completed the appropriate T/M/S Navy Skill Specialty Class "C" school in airframe, ordnance, egress, hydraulic, power plants and related systems or USMC, USCG equivalent. It is preferred to have 2 years T/M/S Organizational Maintenance experience within the last 3 years. All Airframe/Power Plants Mechanics may be required to become Plane Captain certified IAW a Government approved certification process for each T/M/S applicable to their background experience and/or documented equivalent training the applicable T/M/S they cross train to support. Experience as T/M/S applicable Plane Captain desired, T/M/S Flight Deck Trouble shooter desired, Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), CDQAR, High/Low Engine Turn Qual, APU Turn Qual, Ordnance Load Team Leader is strongly preferred. VX-31Organizational Level maintenance experience is most desired and preferred over other options. Must be able to qualify for and sustain a Secret Clearance. Must have a valid US State Drives License.
