Job Desc: Position Summary:
The Avionics Supervisor is responsible to the Manager of Avionics and shall assure that the procedures outlined in the Repair Station Manual as well as all FAA Regulations and manufacturer‘s instructions are complied with. In addition, the Supervisor shall delegate and oversee all work performed by technicians on their team in terms of the following:
Essential Functions And Responsibilities:
**Provide leadership and direction for world-class uncompromising service
**Must be able to lead by example and set standards for your area
**Responsible to assign qualified personnel to the jobs performed and ensure that all repairs are accomplished by approved methods and techniques and in accordance with the specifications set forth by the manufacturer in the service manuals, the Federal Aviation Regulations, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives and other data approved by the FAA administrator.
**Responsible for planning, directing, supervising and coordinating the activities of their shop or area, so as to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
**Ensure that all work accomplished will be completed in strict accordance with the manufacturer‘s maintenance and repair instructions and TITLE 14 CFR part 43.
**Responsible for training and assisting his subordinates in proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty. He is to assist the Manager in selecting qualified personnel to attend factory maintenance training schools.
**Exercise all reasonable care to protect all parts-sub assembles; major assembles and completed units against loss or damage.
**Ensure that all applicable repair station forms utilized by the avionics department personnel are properly completed.
**The Avionics Supervisor need not exercise overall supervision at the management level, but must exercise supervision over the working groups giving instructions to personnel placed under his supervision so that a maximum of work with consistent high quality is assured.
**Ensure good housekeeping rules are observed and that all shop-working areas are kept clean and orderly at all times.
**Ensure that proper tools and equipment are available and those tools are maintained in serviceable condition and ensure that any tool which is found unserviceable for any reason will be removed from service. He will be responsible for good housekeeping and will ensure that housing and facilities and safety precautions are adequate.
**Ensure personnel are adequately trained and competent to perform assigned duties.
**Ensure proper handling of parts and the preservation of all units or parts during the work process through the avionics department.
**Required to be thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the repair station manual, FAA Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Advisory Circulars, Manufactures Service Letters/Bulletins and engineering orders.
**Communicates with the avionics technicians concerning expectations of work to be accomplished.
**Ensure that all discrepancies are signed off with all the information completed, such as part numbers, maintenance manual, ATA and Chapter, etc…
**Displays and promotes a positive attitude toward work and other employees.
**Use experience and technical expertise to assist when necessary to meet completion and production schedules and produce the quality our company has come to expect.
**Assure that all safety precautions are taken and that available protection devices are properly used at all times when applicable to the tasks performed, in order to reduce the risk of possible injury and health problems resulting from performing assigned tasks.
**Identify any employee‘s problems and concerns and deal with them, if unable to solve the problems, forward them to management.
**The Supervisor shall have all their work inspected by an appropriately rated Inspector as listed on the “Roster of Management, Supervisory and Inspection Personnel”. The Supervisor shall assure all paperwork is completed by the technicians in the proper order before continuing to another job. Training shall be provided for all procedures of this Repair Station by the Supervisor for any new technician.
**Participates with management to strategize and implement new avionics tactics.
**Provide leadership and communication to subordinates and employees.
**Performs related work as assigned.
Requirements: Physical Demands:**This work requires the following physical activities.**Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.Environmental Conditions:**Industrial/Hangar environment.Minimum Education Requirement:**Two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.**Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (optional)**Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License**Must have High School Diploma or GEDMinimum Work Experience Requirement:**Seven or more years demonstrated experience in aircraft avionics installations and repairs.**Strong understanding in 135 and 145 repair station operations/regulations required.**Five or more years demonstrated Supervisory experience in avionics installation and repairsOther Requirements:**Ability to pass a drug screening test**Able to pass a background check**Clean driving recordQualifications/Special Skills and Certifications:**Results oriented – Proven ability to achieve goals. Follow through and meet deadlines; Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills; Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.**Communication – Oral Communication – speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions.
