POSITION OVERVIEW/JOB DUTIES:
The Field Service Representative is responsible for using sound judgment and technical aptitude to make decisions regarding maintenance, sequence and techniques, troubleshooting and discrepancy resolution. The intent of this role is to support customers in their hangars and at alternate locations for scheduled and AOG events. In addition, the mechanic will be sent on road trips, in which case all maintenance decisions are made at this level.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Disassembles and reassembles all 731 engine types and models. Performs on-wing troubleshooting for the customer both on the phone and in person. Inspects engine parts upon removal in accordance with appropriate maintenance manuals and/or approved data, taking measurements to match reassembly. Documents all engine discrepancies, troubleshooting & repairing discrepancies and describing work accomplished in inspection paperwork. Accomplishes service bulletins, repair letters and airworthiness directives, as required. Procures and routes parts, as required, for the particular engine inspection. Has significant customer contact. Troubleshoots and repairs aircraft systems based on qualifications. Utilizes safe practices in the accomplishment of all work and participates in general housekeeping efforts. Other duties as required. Position required significant travel, 50-80%.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Spotlight Honeywell’s on-line troubleshooting tools Valid A& P license, to be able to sign off work performed Experience with TFE 731 engines-internal and line maintenance Experience with engine removal and installation of airframes installed with TFE 731 Strong troubleshooting skills on both engine and airframe Airframe experience a plus Computer literate-Microsoft Word and Excel, Intranet and Internet Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Must travel as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (if applicable):
Must be able to: stand a minimum of eight hours per day and walk long distances lift up to 75 pounds bend, kneel and stretch to work on various parts of the engine hold and manipulate large and small tools speak intelligibly write clearly and succinctly
