| Job Desc: |
The Position: The Director of Design Engineering is globally responsible for the strategic oversight and management of a world class design organization including maintaining a competitive organization within a world-wide marketplace.
Responsibilities: Provide strategic oversight for the Design Engineering organization including hiring, training, upgrading and developing the engineering staff.
Responsible for budget and control costs of the Design Engineering organization.
Responsible for planning the work and work leveling within the organization.
Estimate hours for required projects.
Ensure the Design Engineering organization is the technical leader in the rotor wing aircraft industry.
Ensure the Design Engineering organization is more cost competitive than the alternatives(s)
Drive the Design Engineering organization to World Class performance.
Other tasks, assignments and responsibilities, as assigned.
Position Qualifications & Experience:
An Engineering Degree or equivalent education, training and experience
A minimum of 10 years of design engineering experience
Design engineering experience within a global environment
Experience in successful leading and managing in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record
Self motivated and results oriented with a focus on quality
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
Excellent collaborative problem solving skills
Ability to strategically lead and manage in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and organizational skills
viation experience
Knowledge of Auto CAD
