ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
The Maintenance Instructor is responsible for the accomplishment of Mx training conducted for customers receiving Initial, Update, Troubleshooting, System Specific or generic training course purposes in accordance with the approved Mx syllabi/training program, by performing the following duties.
- Mx Training Standards Program Development(s): (Includes Compliance with regulations and guidelines and Quality Management Systems policies and procedures)
- Discuss suggestions and recommendations regarding corrections and modifications to lesson plans and courseware with DOMT and any other appropriate Mx personnel in accordance with FlightSafety standards.
- Assist in the development and revision of Training publications and materials and keep same up-to-date and current; assist in completing and revising syllabi. Mx Training Standards Classroom (Customers): (Includes Compliance with regulations and guidelines and Quality Management Systems policies and procedures)
- Maintain all FSI training material, including customer handouts and other publications, in a current state at all times.
- Prepare classroom and set up training materials no later than 15 minutes prior to scheduled class start time. Prepare the flight simulator and/or briefing room no later than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the simulator lesson and/or pre-briefing session.
- Conduct classroom, shop and simulator training with customers for the purpose of developing and maintaining a high degree of proficiency.
- Conduct training using part task trainers, mock-ups and aircraft simulators as primary teaching medium. May also use Cockpit Procedure Trainers (CPTs) and Cockpit Procedure Mock-ups (CPMs) and computers for training purposes. Teamwork Internal and External Activities:
- Measure training progress of the customer within the established curriculum, utilizing objective and subjective methods.
- Report to the DOMT any customer training problems (poor performance, Customer/Instructor conflicts, excessive tardiness, etc.)
- Serve as aircraft type, subject matter expert, for external customers and internal personnel, as required.
- Attend scheduled Mx Instructor meetings.
- Travel in conjunction with assigned duties, as required.

| Requirements: |
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS |
- High school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency (G.E.D. - demonstrated satisfactory performance in the General Educational Development Testing Program) with six to twelve (6-12) months related technical experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a minimum of ten (10) years as an A&P technician, with at least five (5) years experience with turbine engines; plus two (2) years teaching experience.
- The successful candidate must hold an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) technician certificate.
- Valid drivers license, where applicable.
- REGULATORY NOTE: All references to regulatory requirements are based on the training Certificate(s) (FAA and/or JAA) held by the Learning Center, or by FlightSafety, and on all FlightSafety International Policies and Procedures.
