| Job Desc: |
Under general directions with limited review, this position is responsible for engineering investigation, analysis, and resolution of reliability and maintainability (R&M) design for UAV aircraft and related ground control systems. Support R&M related safety and design resolution and coordinate issue resolution across other departments and engineering disciplines, and develop reports and presentations for the customer. The candidate will also be required to support the analysis, development, and review of fault isolation and troubleshooting procedures for UAV systems. This position may also include supervising the efforts of junior and mid-level engineers, and serving as team lead, as required. Perform Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) per MIL-STD-1629A (or equivalent SAE-ARP 4761); and perform Safety and Hazard analyses per MIL-STD-882C. Conduct R&M analyses, trend analysis, root cause analysis, and determine associated metrics such as MTTR, MTBF, MTBCF and Ao, and develop and maintain associated databases. Make recommendations for design improvements based on this analysis. Perform FRACAS Engineering, and support engineering and document problems. Devise new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems. Provide documentation and make technical presentations as required. May represent the organization as the prime R&M/Safety technical lead and subject expert on various projects and contracts. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

| Requirements: |
Typically requires a Bachelors degree, Masters degree or PhD in Engineering or related technical field and progressively complex engineering experience as follows; nine or more years experience with a Bachelors degree, seven or more years experience with a Masters degree, and four or more with a PhD. Experience in aircraft design, R&M, Safety, and Airworthiness Certification. Experience in aircraft avionics, flight control, data link, engine, servo and mechanical systems. Knowledge and experience in the development of R&M metrics, System Safety Analysis, Failure Mode Analysis, Fault Hazard Assessments, Fault Tree Analysis, Reliability Engineering, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) along with experience in aircraft and aviation safety and hazard analysis risk assessments for aircraft systems. Strong background in aircraft system maintenance and troubleshooting. Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems. Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.Excellent benefits, competitive pay.
