Aerospace experience is not a must. Good candidates might currently reside in automotive refurbishment environments, garment industries, or custom auto body shops. Applicable OEM experiences in the auto industry might include convertible tops, seat suppliers, and select interior installations. In essence, a person who is motivated to learn and can work well with their hands (demonstrated ability in past roles) should be able to do the work. Would not rule out people with fabrication backgrounds such as welders, machinists, and sheet metal workers.
