Specialty Qualifications: Knowledge. Education. For entry into this specialty, completion of high school is desirable with courses in physics, pneudraulics, and electronics. Training. Completion of a suffix specific basic aircraft maintenance course is mandatory. Completion of a suffix specific craftsman aircraft maintenance course is mandatory. Experience. The following experience is mandatory for award of the AFSC indicated: Experience in functions such as repairing and maintaining aircraft or related installed equipment. Experience performing or supervising functions such as installing, inspecting, repairing, or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components. Other. Normal color vision is mandatory.
