Job Description: The Director of Quality is responsible to the Sr. Director of Maintenance for the overall operation of the inspection system, and as such, will have the final authority in releasing to service of any completed work. In addition, the Director of Quality is responsible for the directing, planning and laying out the detail of inspection standards, methods and procedures used by the Maintenance Departmen in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturers‘ specifications and recommendations. It is the Director of Quality‘s responsibility to see that all incoming material, including new parts and supplies, have undergone an incoming inspection. The Director of Quality is responsible for continuity of inspection. The Director of Quality will supervise all work performed away from the rapair station that is done under the repair station. He will assure that the proper log entry has been made.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree of equivalent industry experience. Inspection Authorization (or must be able to get IA within 90 days of hire date). 5+ years experience in a Part 135/145 maintenance quality control. Knowledge of SMS. Knowledge of ISO or similary quality standard. Helicopter experience is preferred. Duties: Hire, develop and counsel quality department employees in support of a 145 repair station and 135 Air Carrier Certificate. Coordinate and adjust activities and shift schedules to meet, quality, safety and delivery schedules. Will ascertain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work and that the proper inspection records, reports, forms, work orders and maintenance release tage used by the maintenance department are properly executed prior to releasing the article for return to service. Develops the annual budget process for the Quality Department. Will submit reports of defects or unariworthy conditions in accordance with appropriate FAR chapters relevant to 135/145. Will assure all appropriate FAA regulations are met. Will conducts or delegate the preliminary hidden damage, in-progress and final inspection of all articles processed by the repair station and record results as outlined in the quality control manual. Will oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in the quality manual and AAIP. Monitor processes and recommend improvements that will improve quality of process and product. |
