Assists the 1st Line Maintenance Supervisor to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and performs intermediate maintenance inspections, services, and repairs on all assigned aircraft. services, repairs and overhauls rotary wing aircrafts to ensure airworthiness, in accordance with approved methods and procedures. Is assigned as the dedicated crew chief or aircraft pilot, and has the primary responsibility for performing, coordinating and/or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft whether it is alone, or with the assistance of other mechanics and/or workers. Is responsible for coordinating the work of other journey-level workers in other trades to work simultaneously on the aircraft.

| Requirements: | High school graduate or equivalent. Must have current and valid documentation showing type of training or a completion of a formal aircraft maintenance training course from an accredited military or civilian aeronautical school. Military training school graduate preferred but not required. Must have a minimum 5 years working experience in aircraft maintenance. Must have skill in the use of all tools of the trade, test equipment, test stands, power sources, cockpit instruments, gauges, and controls so that he can assist lower grade employees as well as operate and repair all aircraft mechanical, electrical, and pneudraulic systems. Must have skill in interpreting and applying written guidelines. Must have skill in the operation of diagnostic and on-board electronic equipment/systems to identify proper, and or improper operation. Must be proficient in English language in order to read and understand technical publications. An ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is necessary. | ||
