SUMMARY:

Responsible for Design Validation of designs and modifications for intended application and to the applicable

requirements. Responsible for performing analytical work and necessary testing. Responsible for preparation of

documents in support of Design Validation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                 

·         Implement proper Engineering Approach in Design Process.

·         Responsible for design validation with respect to applicable requirements utilizing analytical process and testing as necessary.

·         Analyze design and test data to implement proper engineering approach into a design. Utilize FEA at its maximum extent.

·         Implement Analytical Approach and establish correlation with actual test data.

·         Construct and run FEA models.

·         Perform FEA on detail parts and assemblies to verify compliance with structural and occupant injury criteria.

·         Perform necessary linear/non-linear static analysis and dynamic simulation.

·         Perform Pre and Post processing.

·         Validate model and establish correlation.

·         Optimize design based on analysis and test results.

·         Perform FEA on composite structures.

·         Work with design and certification engineers as well as with test laboratory to provide best possible designs.

·         Comply with Company procedures (QAP) and certification internal procedures.

·         Document all design validation work (including FEA) and maintain database.

·         Participate and support in new business development initiatives.

·         Provides technical guidance to design validation engineers and establishes best practices.

·         Ensures quality of model and analysis and on time completion.

·         Maintains work load capacity for the design validation group.

·         Ensures compliance with company procedures and certification internal procedures.

·         Provides status and schedule updates to department head and other appropriate entities on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

·         Must have a strong background in basic structural engineering such as free body diagrams and strength of

·         materials.

·         Broad understanding of FEA and fatigue methods.

·         Minimum of 405 years of FEA experience using LS-Dyna, Altair Hyperworks Suite and Madynmo.

·         Knowledge of stochastic/statistical tools (DOE) and Optimization tools is preferred.

·         Knowledge of Composites is required.

·         Experience in transport airplane seating system certification process is preferred with emphasis in structural

·         testing of seats and seat components.

·         Basic Pro-E skill preferred.

·         Familiarity with FAA regulations, Boeing/Airbus specifications preferred.

EDUCATION

Must have MS in Mechanical Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering with 2-4 years of FEA related experience OR BS Degree in Mechanical Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering with 4-6 years of FEA related experience
