When assigned a design package, they will be responsible and follow this package from the design phase until delivery of the aircraft. As such, they are required throughout the completion cycle to design, support and answer questions relative to that package. The Designer will perform the schematics, wiring diagrams and BOM generation for all electrical/avionics designs. They will ensure that the concept meets the design intended by the customer and reduces the manufacturing risk associated to it. They will perform the integration activities between the CMS, Lights, Water, Waste and other systems on the aircraft to ensure they all function will with each other.
After a package is released, the designers track all changes to the configuration and conduct all necessary changes: EOS, NIEOs, Revision Changes.
The Designer is accountable for the manufacturability, certification and accuracy of the design package.
The Designers are responsible for the following activities related to the completion of an aircraft interior: Generation of electrical wiring diagrams, GTPs, FTPs, and schematics for production and certification. Creation of the Parts List and AMO list. Response to RFE activity. Support PDR and CDR activities. Attend the PDR to check the entire completions design package to ensure that it is accurate and consistent with the contents of the completions specification.
Conduct the CDR and follow-up on the actions resulting from this activity to ensure they are closed at the agreed to ECD dates.
