AIRCRAFT NAVIGATION SPECIALIST | AVIONICS NAVIGATION TECHNICIAN
SUMMARY OF DUTIES Performs all aspects of aircraft and shop maintenance as required by pertinent technical directives to return aircraft navigations systems and components to a serviceable condition. Performs on the-job training requirements for assigned trainees.
QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of four (4) years Avionics maintenance experience. Skill level must be comparable to USAF ‘7’ level Aircraft Navigations Systems Technician or the US Navy/Marine Corps equivalent. Candidate must have no physical handicaps that might impair or restrict job performance. Must be fluent in English, free of speech impediments and capable of having his voice heard and understood during work and training activities. Must possess normal color vision.
SPECIFIC DUTIES Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and overhauls aircraft navigations systems and components using appropriate military and commercial directives. Component overhaul is defined as disassembly, inspection, replacement of defective internal components, reassembly, alignment, calibration and testing whereby the final product will appear and function like new and meet or exceed the manufacturer’s specifications or requirements. Performs on-the-job training in accordance with RSAF directives.
