ARINC in Annapolis, MD is looking for a Railroad Systems Test Engineer to support our Airports & Surface Transportation Division. This employee will provide testing support to railroad Positive Train Control Systems and surface transportation related projects. Responsibilities to include: - Analyze customer’s positive train control systems requirements - Develop system test requirements, plans, test cases, and test procedures - Develop system test concepts for laboratory and field tests - Oversee network and system testing in lab and field environments - Assist in client’s transition to new systems and technologies - Assist in field testing and troubleshooting. Candidate must have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in testing large, distributed systems. - Experience should include four (4) years in a systems-level technical leadership position, and experience coordinating system design or test; - Four (4) years experience in preparing system documentation, test plans, or test procedures; - Experience in application of structured systems engineering processes, including test planning and test execution; - Experience in working with customers on requirements, testing, and system documentation, with demonstrated skills in customer interaction; - Strong written and verbal English skills, with ability to generate complex technical documents; - Experience presenting technical plans or speaking on technical topics to project teams, clients or other groups as required; - Ability to work on problems of diverse scope and multiple technologies; - Ability to work independently or with cross functional teams as required; and - Experience working with software tools such as requirements traceability, test planning, automated test execution, or configuration management. Desired Experience: - Knowledge of railroad technologies; and - Experience with message-based systems testing. Education or Certification Requirements: BS in Engineering or Computer Science preferred, PMP or PE a plus
